A former center of Chasidism, the Jewish cemetery was almost entirely destroyed during the Holocaust. Today, only a few matzevot remain, including that of Tzaddik Dancygier.

Auschwitz-Birkenau
|
|
The largest of the Nazi German death camps, over 1.1 million people, mainly Jews, were murdered during the four and half of the camp's operation. Today, half a million people a year visit the museum and memorial created on the sites of the former camp.
